MARCH 2011

Royal School Armagh U14XI win the Ulster Junior Cup 2011

The U14XI girls have recently won the Ulster Junior Cup, after beating the holders Rainey Endowed by a single goal. It was always going to be a close game, with Rainey the better team in the first half and Armagh in the second. Chloe Wilson scored the only goal of the game with only five minutes remaining from a well worked penalty corner after good play by captain Pippa Best and Joanna Dodds. Coach Mr Moore praised his entire squad for their performances throughout the rounds and was a very pleased with their attitude and effort throughout the year.
On the road to the final the girls beat much larger schools such as Strathearn (3-0), Hunterhouse (2-0), Banbridge Academy (3-1), Killicomaine JHS (3-1) and then Victoria College (3-0) in the semi final.
